First Church is a community who offer acts of service towards others in response to the call of God. Our vision is to grow in love for God, each other and the world therefore, as the world starts on our doorstep, here are a few of the ways that we try to shine God’s light into our own town and local community.

Food Bank

‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you invited me in.’ Matthew 25 v 35

Ballynahinch Foodbank is managed by First Presbyterian Church and supported by the local community.

It aims to help those experiencing short-term financial hardship regardless of background. It is not meant to offer long-term assistance or financial support. We provide non-perishable food parcels, enough to feed a family for 3 days, on production of a voucher. Vouchers can be obtained from CAP, Homestart, St Vincent de Paul, NIHE, The Hub and Social Services. Up to a maximum of 4 vouchers per family may be issued during a period of need.

This is a confidential service run by volunteers.

We would appreciate your support by leaving non-perishable food at the church or by donating money.

Foodbank is open Tuesday 9.30am to 12.30pm.
